Junior & Senior kindergarten Aged From 3.8 yrs to 5.8 yrs

To provide a strong foundation at an early age, Maple Crest offers a nurturing and structured program as early as 3 years onwards. To get started at this early age we introduce children to the world of wondering and wandering, exploring and enjoying, observing and understanding, that comes naturally to them. These are well blended with the exploration of the units of inquiry about them and the world around them.
From as early as the JK, we offer a well balanced and engaging curriculum which is based on best practices borrowed from the Montessori approach and the play-way method with the Ontario curriculum addressing practical life skills, sensorial and language development, logical reasoning, artistic pursuits and physical and social education.
The kindergarten students inquire into units organized under 6 IB PYP transdisciplinary themes:

• Who we are ?
• Where are we in time and place ?
• How we express ourselves ?
• How our world works ?
• How we organize ourselves ?
• Sharing the planet ?

The activities are designed keeping in mind the distinct learning styles and individualized to the students’ pace so that each student  progress through the elementary grades with assurance, ease and confidence.
While the English is the medium of communication and instruction in the schools, students are encouraged to express themselves in the many languages, both verbal and visual. The co-curricular activities are designed to build confidence, creativity and spirit of collaboration among the very young learners.
Children are introduced to French as a second language, music, physical education and field trips as a part of the curriculum.  Parents may chose from morning, full-day or extended program. Parents also have the flexibility of choosing from full-week or half-week program for the kindergarteners.
